'Real Housewives Of Atlanta' Cast 2017: Sheree Whitfield Says Season 10 Drama Is Like None Other
Sheree Whitfield said the combination of the ‘OGs’ and the new girls on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta tenth season gives fans just want they want – the drama.
Whitfield, who starred in the show from its first season to the fourth, returned for season 8 and has been going strong since then. Now that NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak Biermann, who are also original cast members, are back on the series, Whitfield said their return will spark even more drama this season.
“Me, Kim and NeNe, we’re OGs,” said Whitfield during an interview with E! News Thursday. “They’ve gone at it before, but I don’t know that it’s ever been to this extreme.”
Whitfield said she can be thanked for some of the drama that pops off in the new episodes.
“I probably butt heads with a couple of the girls, but not just one person, and it’s pretty much about really talking behind my back,” she said.
Interestingly enough, Whitfield has already rubbed some of her co-stars the wrong way in recent seasons after she refused to let the ladies diss each other in private. She was known for confronting the issues head-on and had no problem letting her co-stars know who was saying what about each other.
Still, the drama isn’t the only reason, Whitfield said she believes this season will be a standout one.
“I think this will be the best season because we’ve all come so far. We’ve evolved. Me, myself, I try to pick my battles, so I want to say that I’ve learned, I’ve grown. It’s just some great TV. These girls are comical, they’re dramatic, they’re super extra. The group, the dynamics, is just when it’s good, it’s good. And when it’s bad, it’s horrible.”
She went on to point out that the history of the show is part of the reason there is so much drama; especially with the original ladies returning.
“I think sometimes some of the girls may be a little intimidated that we started this platform,” Whitfield continued. “We’re the reason you’re here. So I think that may come into play maybe with some of the girls, but it’s just a different day and time. When we were on before, we didn’t hit below the belt. We didn’t say or do a lot of the things they’re doing today.”
This season, the cast consists of Whitfield, Porsha Williams, Leakes, Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burruss and Kenya Moore. Biermann will be on the show part-time as a friend and recurring role. One person who’s missing the peach this season is Phaedra Parks. She joined the show in its third season but was booted last season after she sparked drama and accused Burruss of trying to date rape Williams.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta tenth season premiere airs on Bravo Sunday at 8/7c.
