Fans of Netflix's hit political series, House of Cards, continue to frolic the web for the latest happenings on its highly anticipated second installment. While executive producer Beau Willimon has made it a point of remaining mum, some details on its filming and casting have indeed come out.

On June 11, actress Kate Mara confirmed that production was underway with the following tweet:

"To all those asking, we are shooting #HouseofCards season 2 right now..."

In terms of HoC casting, two new actors are now confirmed to be gracing the set for its sophomore season in Jimmi Simpson and Late Lyn Sheil.

According to TheWrap, Simpson, who is known for his work on A&E's Breakout Kings, is said to be taking on a recurring role. However, the description of his character is "being kept hush-hush by producers."

BuzzFeed stated last week that Kate Lyn Sheil will also come aboard it the second season. Her role is also being kept on the down low. She is mostly known for her parts in Somebody Up There Likes Me and Sun Don't Shine.

Deadwood's Molly Parker and Mad Men's Sam Page have also been confirmed to appear in Season 2, stated WebProNews.

iDigital Times had reported that Netflix is currently in the midst of sorting out an airdate for House of Cards so that it doesn't conflict with its next project, Arrested Development. The respective date is expected to be at some point in early 2014, and the show will be airing 13 episodes, stated BuzzFeed.
