'Sherlock' Season 3 Spoilers: Sherlock's Adventures, Two More Installments & Air Date Discussed [VIDEO]
After a considerably long wait, BBC's hit TV series, Sherlock, will finally be making its return in the fall for its highly anticipated third season.
The program's second installment ended with quite the shock, as Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) faked his death after he was mistakenly accused of multiple murders.
Executive producer Steven Moffat had spoken about why the show's storylines are so compelling, according to Latin Times.
"Conan Doyle's stories were never about frock coats and gas light; they're about brilliant detection, dreadful villains and blood-curdling crimes - and frankly, to hell with the crinoline. Other detectives have cases, Sherlock Holmes has adventures, and that's what matters," he said.
Although Sherlock usually airs in the U.K. prior to the U.S., the site reported that Season 3 will be broadcast at the same time in both of the countries.
In terms of the series' future, Cumberbatch let the cat out of the bag to NME about a fourth season and beyond.
"We've agreed to two more series but I could get into trouble for saying that. All I know at the moment is I'm doing these three [episode of the upcoming series] and another three," he explained.
BBC's Sherlock will be making its return for Season 3 on Thursday, October 31. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular TV series.
