'American Horror Story' Season 3 Spoilers: Casting for Guest Stars Includes Asian Doctor & 'Jerk' College Student [VIDEO]
American Horror Story may be starting production on its third season soon, since new casting notices have been released for the first episode.
The horror anthology series is looking to fill two guest roles for the third season's first episode, according to a Tuesday report. The two guest roles will be males.
The first role to fill is described as a "male college student who's a jerk." Given the information known about Emma Roberts' role (self-involved party girl), it can be assumed that she could interact with the male college student. It is unknown at time of publication if the guest role will go beyond the first episode since it is not listed as recurring.
The second role is slightly more descriptive. Casting is looking to fill the role of Dr. David Zhong, a charming Asian doctor. The doctors on American Horror Story have notoriously been corrupt, such as James Cromwell's evil Nazi surgeon in Asylum and the demented doctor who cut into his own baby in the first season. Dr. Zhong may follow the same path in the third season.
With a predominantly female cast, the third season of American Horror Story doesn't seem to be featuring any men besides series regular Evan Peters. Though rumors were flying about J. August Richards possibly joining the show, none of the executives released information about him signing on.
Sarah Paulson (who played Lana Winters in Asylum) confirmed earlier in June at the Critics Choice TV Awards that there would be a lot of "witchy b--ches" on the show next season, saying that Peters was the only male they've locked down so far. Zachary Quinto, who was recurring in season 1 and had a major role in season 2, told E! that he's doing a play in the fall, so he wouldn't be able to sign on for season 3.
The third season of American Horror Story will be premiering in October.
