In what will surely strike its fans as somewhat shocking news, Showtime's Homeland executive producer Alex Gansa stated that the TV series won't be focusing in as heavily on Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) moving forward.

According to Los Angeles Times, the EP said that Season 3 will be kicking off with "perhaps not as much" of the traitor's presence as in the previous two seasons.

"He is the most wanted man on the planet. By definition, he's going to be hiding somewhere. And if he's hiding, that limits what he can do," he explained.

To top it off, Gansa goes on to say that he has no qualms about having kept the controversial character alive.

"There was still more story to tell between Claire (Claire Danes) and Brody. I have no regrets about that. We'll always sacrifice a degree of believability in order to put two characters together in a dramatic way," he said.

Showtime's Homeland will be debut its third season on Sunday, September 29th at 9/8 p.m. Central. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular cable network series.
