FOX Gives Viewers A Preview Of New Singing Competition 'The Four: Battle For Stardom'
Fox Broadcasting Company is returning to the world of singing competitions. The Four: Battle For Stardom is expected to change everything.
The Superstar Panelists
At the foundation of The Four: Battle For Stardom is the show's superstar panelists. Sean "Diddy" Combs (who is eyeing to buy the Carolina Panthers football franchise), DJ Khaled, Meghan Trainor, and Republic Group president Charlie Walk. Together, these four music industry titans have found four up-and-coming artists who they believe will have significant success in the recording industry.
Who Are The Four?
Combs sent out an Instagram video to the first set of artists who will be competing for the chance of having access to four of the biggest names in music. Singers Lex Lu, Ash Minor, Elanese Lansen, and Blair Perkins each received Combs' message that congratulated them on being selected to take part in the FOX singing competition. The four artists freaked out when Diddy congratulated them and are anxious to participate in the competition.
The Challenge Ahead
Lu, Lansen, Minor, and Perkins will have to fight every week to make sure that they can keep their seats from being stolen from another artist. Each of the artists who are challenging the four is hungry for the show's ultimate prize: the backing of Combs, Khaled, Trainor, and Walk. More importantly, the winner of the competition will be named one of iHeartMedia's "On The Verge" artists.
The Four's Competition
The Four: Battle For Stardom is entering a crowded marketplace. NBC's Emmy-winning The Voice just crowned Chloe Kohanski their 13th champion and the show will welcome Kelly Clarkson to their coaches' panel when the show returns to NBC in the springtime. Clarkson's alma mater, American Idol, will return with host Ryan Seacrest on a new network: ABC. The show's judges are Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and upcoming Kennedy Center honoree Lionel Richie and will be starting the audition process in the spring.
Rounding out the competition is summer talent show, America's Got Talent, who have welcomed an increasingly amount of singers since series creator Simon Cowell joined the judges' panel in 2016.
The Four: Battle For Stardom has just one chance to prove that they have the right to stay in the singing competition world. Otherwise, they would join Rising Star and The X Factor USA in the canceled singing competition shows category.
Fergie will host the competition and it will start airing on FOX on Thursday, Jan. 4.
