Jennifer Lawrence Set for 'Late Show' Appearance
Tuesday is 'Hunger Games' night on the Late Show with David Letterman. The upcoming movie's lead actress Jennifer Lawrence and Gail Collins, the author of the book which spawned the series will appear, according to CBS.
Lawrence, 21, has been lauded for her performance in the film by co-stars and the movie's director in recent weeks. Initial reviews of preview screenings have been positive, with special distinction given to Lawrence's performance as the heroine, Katniss.
Lawrence recently spoke in an interview about her growing prominence and how a role in what is expected to be a hit movie, is changing her life.
"I feel like I'm in the eye of the hurricane right now," she told Glamour magazine recently. "It's just scary. I feel like a I got a ticket to go to another plant and I'm moving there and there's no turning back, and I don't know if I'm going to like that other planet or have friends there. It's daunting."
Lawrence said she gave herself three days before taking the job as the lead actress.
"I knew from reading the books that I loved The Hunger Games. I just didn't know if it was worth changing my life for. I'm at a peaceful place now.
"I wanted to make sure that when I said yes, I wouldn't regret it. I would have said no because I was scared and then I would have been that bitter actress telling my grandkids, "I'm the one that turned it down."
'Hunger Games' will be released to theaters nationwide on March 23.
