Jack Porter's character needs to be less innocent when season 3 of Revenge premieres on ABC in the fall, actor Nick Wechsler said recently.

At the ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas, earlier in June, Wechsler talked about his hopes for season 3 of the television series and what he wants in specific for his character. In the season 2 finale alone,

Jack lost his little brother who died following an explosion at Grayson Global, came close to murdering Conrad Grayson, and found out about Emily Thorne's big secret: she is really Amanda Clarke. Talking about how Jack will handle the revelation that Emily is actually his childhood sweetheart, Wechsler said, "I suspect he's going to be very upset with Emily... I would hope he doesn't forgive her instantly because I think naive Jack needs to have died with everyone else."

"It was frustrated sometimes playing this guy who was in the dark about everything," he added. "I think now that he knows he needs to not trust someone unless they earn his trust. Because he keeps trusting people, and everyone around him was lying to him about something."

Wechsler also addressed the possiblity of his character teaming up with Emily to bring down the Graysons. Jack may be "too mad at her to want to work with her" but if they do join forces, it would "be out of necessity," Weschler said.

"It's like, we have a common enemy so let's team up, but we're not friends. That's what I would guess. Until she's earned [his trust] again. She would have to earn it back. If she gets it too soon it makes Jack look like a pussy again."

The possibility of Jack and Emily starting a romance is not likely, at least not until far long into season 3, according to Wechsler. He said in an earlier interview that Jack will be primarily focused on revenge in the upcoming season of the show.

He said in a separate interview that Jack will "resent' Emily for lying to him about her identity, but that Emily's lying and scheming is "both the thing that's going to push her away, and the thing that's probably ultimately going to make him forgive her."
