'Sister, Sister' Is Coming Back, Reboot In The Works
Fans asked and they received! One of the beloved sitcoms of the '90s, Sister, Sister is returning for a reboot!
In August 2017, Tia Mowry told Us Weekly that she and her sister, Tia Mowry-Hardrict have been taking some exciting meetings about the revival of the show, but haven't received the green light at the time.
On Tuesday, Jan. 16, the matriarch of the show, Jackée Harry, appeared on Steve Harvey's talk show and stated that the reboot is definitely happening.
"I'm excited. Tia and Tamera Mowry...my babies too. They won't leave me alone. I can't get rid of none of these women!" Harry said.
The ABC series which ran for six seasons from 1994 to 1999 is expected to continue with the original cast, Jackée Harry as Lisa Landry, Tim Reid as Ray Campbell, and the identical twins Tia Landry played by Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Tamera Campbell played by Tamera Mowry-Housley.
The series followed twins, Tia and Tamera, who were separated at birth and adopted by a different parent. One day, the twins have an encounter while shopping at the mall. Shortly after, their families meet, which convinces Ray Campbell, Tamera's adoptive father, to allow Tia and Lisa to move in with them. As they get to know each other, Tia and Tamera realize that the only thing identical about them is their looks.
Tia And Tamera Are Back
In August 2017, Mowry-Hardrict revealed that she and her sister, Mowry-Housley were so excited to be sitting in the meetings for the reboot and are honored that people are still following her and her sister.
"We're just excited to give back to the fans and make them happy, that's really one of the main reasons why we're doing it," Mowry-Hardrict explained.
In 2015, the Mowry-Hardrict first teased a potential reboot during an interview with Meredith Vieira. Mowry-Hardrict stated that the reboot needed to be released at the right time and if the fans really want it, they are willing to do it.
While Harry confirmed the reboot, the twins have not confirmed the news. However, Mowry-Hardrict explained that she and her sister were told that they want the reboot to happen next year in the fall.
If Mowry-Hardrict is right, that is the perfect time as she will have given birth to her baby girl. On Jan. 12, the actress confirmed that she and her husband, Corey Hardrict, are having the girl via her YouTube channel. The couple already has a 6-year-old son together, Cree Hardrict.
