Former American Idol contestant Jessica Sanchez made her highly anticipated Glee debut as Frida Romero towards the end of its fourth season.

Sanchez, whose role was that of a rival lead singer, went on to appear in two episodes overall for the musical TV series.

While the 17-year-old's part was seemingly well received, it's still up in the air as to whether or not she'll be back in Season 5.

Sanchez recently spoke to Wet Paint while in attendance for TrevorLIVE in New York City on June 17. In the process, she stated her interest in reprising her role in the near future, even joking about actress Jane Lynch's (Sue Sylvester) presence at the event.

"I hope so. I mean Jane Lynch is here, so like... [mimes nudging]," she said.

Due to the New Directions' victory over Frida's Hooiserdaddies at last season's Regionals, the character's group won't be returning for a future competition. However, the respective predicament doesn't necessarily mean that the part is completely done.

In the meantime, Sanchez is keeping herself busy by promoting her new album, which is currently available for purchase.

"My new album is out. It's called Me, You, and the Music so you can go get it on iTunes and all that. I was on the Glee season finale. I'm doing radio shows here and there. So I'm just doing everything," she said.

Although no clear-cut date has yet to be set in stone for its return, Glee's fifth season is slated to return at some point towards the end of July.
