Fans continue to get increasingly eager over the upcoming eighth and final season of Showtime's Dexter, which is now less than a week away.

In the latest dirt on the popular cable program, descriptions on the first four episodes have now come out.

The first installment of the season, titled A Beautiful Day, is given the following description:

"The eighth season begins six months following LaGuarta's murder. Deb works as a private investigator, with Batista replacing her as lieutenant. Meanwhile, Miami Metro investigates a murder in which the victim had pieces of his brain removed."

Dexter's second episode of Season 8 will be called Every Silver Lining, and will feature one of the first interactions between Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and Dr. Vogel (Charlotte Rampling). It was given the following synopsis:

"Miami Metro continues its search for the Brain Surgeon, and Dr. Vogel enlists Dexter's help. Meanwhile, Debra works a case and is forced to take matters into her own hands."

Episode three of the upcoming season will be titled, What's Eating Dexter Morgan? It's described below.

"Dexter searches for the Brain Surgeon. Meanwhile, Dr. Vogel tries to prove to Dexter that he is perfect as a psychopath; and Deb makes a desperate plea when her post-traumatic stress disorder kicks in."

The fourth episode, Scar Tissue, will feature Dex doing what he does best; hunting and slaying predators.

"Dexter pursues another potential serial killer from Dr. Vogel's list. Quinn celebrates his passing of Sergeant's exam by defending Deb in a fight. Dr. Vogel begins treating Deb for her post-traumatic stress disorder."
