Toni Braxton Confirms Engagement, Tamar Deals With Divorce In New 'Braxton Family Values' Teaser
Toni Braxton has finally confirmed that she will soon be Mrs. Birdman as the drama surrounding Tamar Braxton's divorce hit a new high on WeTV's Braxton Family Values. The series is set to return in March.
Toni Braxton's Big Announcement
While she told her family the news first, it was confirmed as cameras for their hit series WeTV’s Braxton Family Values were rolling.
“I have an announcement to make,” said Toni in the now viral clip. “I’m engaged!”
She went on to show her sisters the huge diamond Birdman put on her ring finger. It was clear her family was happy for Toni and her soon-to-be husband.
Interestingly enough, Toni barely even really confirmed her relationship with Birdman. They have always said they were just friends and had been for more than 15 years. Speculation for the two being an item sparked back in 2016.
They seemed to bring truth to the rumors when they went to the BET Awards together that year. Still, they were pretty coy about whether they were actually together.
Friends Turned Lovers
Birdman even made it sound like they were camping out in each other’s friend zones.
“We went to the BET Awards. What’s the big deal?” he said during an interview. “Toni cool… Super cool. That’s the homegirl. I’ve been knowing her for a long time…We did music together. We got one coming out together.”
It looks like their love bloomed as they worked on their latest collaboration "Heart Away," a song on Braxton’s latest album Sex and Cigarettes.
Meanwhile, Tamar Braxton Ends Her Marriage
Interestingly enough, while Toni celebrated her engagement, Tamar and Vincent Herbert’s rocky relationship got put on blast this season.
In another clip, Traci Braxton asked her sisters if they heard the latest drama on Tamar and Herbert’s split. Their mother, Evelyn, had spoken to TMZ and accused Herbert of physically abusing Tamar just weeks after it was reported she filed for divorce. Even though Tamar seemed upset about her mother’s actions, Evelyn made it clear she had no regrets.
“I said what I needed to say,” Evelyn said.
Tamar filed for divorce from Herbert back in October. Their drama was their key storyline for their Tamar & Vince spin-off. It’s safe to say it’s spilled over into Braxton Family Values as well.
