The Best Team Adam Performances In 'The Voice' History
Adam Levine is one of the original coaches in NBC's singing competition, The Voice. The Maroon 5 frontman has mentored dozens of artists for seven years.
As The Voice returns for its 14th season, Enstars is celebrating the best performances in Team Adam history.
#8 Matt McAndrew: "The Blower's Daughter" (Season 7)
Throughout Season 7, Team Adam's Matt McAndrew was one of the show's best singers who weaved stories together through song. During the show's Top 8 week, McAndrew delivered one of his best covers with a moving performance of Damien Rice's "The Blower's Daughter."
#7 Will Champlin: "At Last" (Season 5)
Will Champlin was the show's very first underdog. Throughout the pre-taped portions of the show's fifth season, the California native ping-ponged between both Levine and Aguilera's teams before returning to Team Adam for the Live Playoffs. However, Champlin gained serious momentum after giving a powerful performance of Etta James's "At Last," which earned him a spot in the Season 5 finale.
#6 Kim Yarbrough: "Tell Me Something Good" (Season 2)
Our countdown continues with the fabulous singer-actress Kim Yarbrough. During the show's sophomore season, Yarbrough delivered a fiery take on the Rufus and Chaka Khan classic "Tell Me Something Good." The soul singer's excellent cover caught the attention of both Levine and founding coach Christina Aguilera.
#5 Addison Agen: "Both Sides Now" (Season 13)
Last season, Team Adam's Addison Agen delivered two powerful interpretations of Joni Mitchell songs. However, it was her gorgeous take on "Both Sides Now" that earned her a trip to the Season 13 semifinals. Agen beautifully tackled Mitchell's haunting song and also inspired her peers to pursue their music careers.
#4 Billy Gilman: "I Surrender" (Season 11)
Fans were surprised to see a grown-up Billy Gilman at the Season 11 Blind Auditions. Gilman found fame when he was younger as a country singer, but he turned to The Voice in hopes that he would start a new chapter in his career. As a Team Adam member, Gilman became one of the stars of the show's 11th season who delivered outstanding performances. However, it was his show-stopping cover of Celine Dion's "I Surrender" that blew fans away and earned him a spot in the Season 11 finale.
#3 Amanda Brown: "Dream On" (Season 3)
One of the best performers from the show's early seasons was Amanda Brown. Adele's background singer started on Team CeeLo Green but ended up being stolen by Levine. During the show's Live Playoffs, Brown proved that she was a force to be reckoned with when she tackled Aerosmith's "Dream On." By using her impeccable vocal range and excellent stage presence, Brown gave one of the best performances of the season. In fact, Billboard named that performance one of its greatest performances of all time.
#2 Tessanne Chin: "I Have Nothing" (Season 5)
Levine's second champion comes in at the number 2 spot on the list. Many viewers declared her the winner of the season after delivering an eloquent and gorgeous cover of the late Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing."
#1 Jordan Smith: "Somebody to Love" (Season 9)
During the singing competition's ninth season, Team Adam's Jordan Smith delivered the best male vocal performance in the show's history after he delivered an outstanding cover of Queen's "Somebody to Love." Backed by a gospel choir, Smith showcased his high-octane vocals that contained mighty octave leaps and had viewers (and one proud coach) on their feet! Billboard also named the performance one of its all-time favorite performances and fans declared him the winner of season 9 after that show-stopping performance.
