Teri Hatcher Is Up For A 'Desperate Housewives' Reboot: 'I Never Wanted It To Be Over'
Desperate Housewives alum Teri Hatcher said that she would love to do a reboot of the famed TV series and admitted that she never wanted the show to end in the first place.
'Desperate Housewives' Reboot
The 53-year-old Hatcher shared how she would love to bring back the ABC drama to television screens during a guest appearance on the ITV talk show Loose Women. The actress expressed her interest to see a reboot and to be a part of the reboot. She admitted that she would be the first to return if it happens.
"I never wanted it to be over. I love those characters," Hatcher said.
Cast Mates
However, the actress revealed that she has not kept in touch with her Desperate Housewives costars since the show ended with its eighth season in 2012. The series premiered on Oct. 3, 2004.
"Not so much," Hatcher said, although she believes that they would also love to be in the reboot.
"I think the women would probably all do it," she added.
The casts of the female-lead series now have gone on to do separate projects after the show ended, although Hatcher said that she still supports her cast mates. She talked about Eva Longoria and expressed her excitement for the first-time mom.
"[I'm] definitely supportive of everything that we're all off and doing. Very exciting Eva's about to have her first baby!" Hatcher said.
This is not the first time that Hatcher expressed her interest to do a Desperate Housewives reboot. The star of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman discussed the possibility of a reboot in an interview with KTLA 5 News late in February.
"Look, just because everybody's rebooting everything ... I'm not the first person to say this ... Why not let's do Desperate Housewives, let's do Lois & Clark!" news anchor Sam Rubin suggested (see the end of the video below).
"Any of those I would be on-board. Oh my god I would be the first one to sign up. Totally," the actress replied with enthusiasm.
Hatcher played the klutzy Susan Mayer in Desperate Housewives. She appeared in the series from 2004 to 2012. Other cast members include Longoria, who played Gabrielle Solis, Marcia Cross as Bree Van de Kamp, Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, Vanessa Williams as Renee Perry, and Nicollette Sheridan, who exited the ABC series in 2009 after her character Edie Britt died.
