To both the excitement and sadness of its loyalists, Showtime's hit TV series, Dexter, is set to kick off its eighth and final season this Sunday.

Season 7 of the program saw Dex (Michael C. Hall) on the brink of taking out Captain LaGuerta (Lauren Velez) when Deborah (Jennifer Carpenter) came to the rescue of her brother by making the on-the-spot decision to execute the latter in order to keep the serial killer's secret intact.

The upcoming installment will have Deb going from Lieutenant at Miami Metro to out of a job in the law enforcement field. The million-dollar question on the minds of fans is undoubtedly how far will Deb go out of control, which will inevitably impact Dex.

While Deborah has always been passionate about her work at Miami Metro, she clearly let her feelings for her brother Dexter (Michael C. Hall) get in the way of what's right and wrong, as she instantaneously made a choice that altered her moral compass.

Showtime's Dexter is set to make its return to cable TV on Sunday, June 30 at 9/8 p.m. Central. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on America's favorite serial killer. The Season 8 trailer can be watched below.
