Laura Ingraham To ‘Take Vacation’ Following Controversy With Parkland Survivor David Hogg
Polarizing Fox News Network television personality Laura Ingraham has made a surprising announcement regarding her time on the media network.
Going On Vacation
According to The Daily Beast, Ingraham will be taking a planned vacation from her hit Fox show, The Ingraham Angle.
The conservative news personality told her audience on Friday, March 30, that she would be spending her hiatus celebrating Easter and spending time with her kids.
Companies Cut Ties
Ingraham's Easter vacation comes at the worst possible time for the Fox News anchor. Variety reports that The Ingraham Angle has lost a lot of its advertising partnerships. The entertainment news outlet said that several companies including Johnson & Johnson, Nestle, Expedia, and Trip Advisor had pulled all of their advertisements from its production. Also, Hulu, which is also owned by Fox News' parent company, 21st Century FOX, also announced that it would remove its commercials as well.
Picking On David Hogg
The companies' disassociating themselves from Ingraham may have to do with her attack against Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting survivor David Hogg.
Ingraham personally attacked Hogg on Twitter after he complained that he was denied entrance to four prestigious universities in California. While Ingraham mocked him, Hogg used his social media followers to his advantage and encouraged them to call several of The Ingraham File's key advertisers and tell them about the situation.
The March For Our Lives Recap
Hogg played a crucial role in organizing the March For Our Lives event, where millions of people marched all across the country in support of stricter gun control laws. Countless celebrities participated in these marches. Social media sensation and model Kendall Jenner wore an anti-President Trump jacket that received a lot of online buzz at the Los Angeles March For Our Lives rally. At the same event, Amy Schumer boldly went after lawmakers who were against gun control.
Meanwhile, celebrities such Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, and more were spotted at the Washington, D.C. event. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star kept close to her husband, Kanye West, and daughter North West, while Cyrus and Hudson joined a plethora of acts such as Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, and Broadway superstars Lin-Manuel Miranda and Ben Platt on stage.
The Watters File
Ingraham is not the only Fox News personality to come under fire. Fox News host Jesse Watters' ex-wife, Noelle, filed for divorce from him after he confessed that he fell for a production assistant, Emma DiGiovine. Both parties did not get reprimanded by the network. While both parties kept their jobs, DiGiovine is currently working on The Ingraham Angle.
