'Sons of Anarchy Season 6 Spoilers: Nero To Be 'Much More Integrated' Into TV Series Moving Forward? [VIDEO]
News on the upcoming sixth installment of FX's hit TV series Sons of Anarchy has been slim pickings up until now. However, veteran actor Jimmy Smits (Nero) took the time to dish on his character and Season 6.
Entertainment Weekly had the opportunity to speak with Smits while he was in attendance at a Directors Guild event to honor Sons executive producer and director Paris Barclay.
The 57-year-old actor spoke about the unpredictability that creator Kurt Sutter and his writing staff bring to the table every episode.
"From the loss of Opie [Ryan Hurst], which is very traumatic for that group, everybody in the show basically knows that at some point you can get the bullet," he said.
Smits also addressed Nero, and how he feels his character will likely develop moving forward into the show's future plot.
"Nero's really much more integrated into the fabric. So that's different. I just have to keep in my head this whole thing about him starting out with this 'exit strategy.' I have to keep that alive for me so that when we have these little brushes, there's this idea that he really wants to get out - or does he?" Smits explained.
Sons of Anarchy will be premiering its sixth season on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 10/9 p.m. Central on the FX network. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details from EnStars on the gritty TV series. A recent video of the cast doing an interview at the Paley Center can be viewed below.
