The eighth season of Supernatural will premiere in the United Kingdom on Sky Living July 3

U.K. fans of the CW sci-fi show will get to begin their journey through season 8 starting July 3 at 10 p.m.

Premiering with the opener "We Need To Talk About Kevin," the program picks up a year after the season 7 closer "Survival of the Fittest." While the Winchester Brothers finally defeated the Laviathan, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Castiel (Misha Collins) are caught in the resulting blast. Sam (Jared Padalecki) is left alone in the room as a battle against the remaining demons rages behind him.

While Supernatural usually spends the first episode of each season reacting to what transpired in the previous season finale and the ensuing consequences, season 8 will break that mold. As the brothers are reunited following a difficult and game changing year apart, tensions are high but the boys get straight to business and viewers only find out the events of the previous 12-months via flashbacks.

The boy's first time back together will showcase a crumbling relationship and highlight the inherent differences between the two characters. Sam has re-embraced his previous obsession with escaping the life of hunting and Dean will find it difficult to trust a brother who he feels abandoned him.

As noted in the title, the Winchesters will become once again entangled with the young prophet Kevin Tran (Osric Chau). After his life was suddenly turned inside out by the world of hunters and angels, Kevin has not faired particularly well after a year without the Winchesters.
