AMC's hit zombie series The Walking Dead continues to draw optimal interest for its upcoming fourth season, which will surely aim to raise the bar even higher for its loyal audience.

While a majority of the chatter has been related to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the rest of the prison group, fans are surely wondering how things will pan out for the Governor (David Morrissey), as well as the origin of his destructive behavior.

In a daily segment posted by TVLine on July 2 called Ask Ausiello, founder & editor in chief Michael Ausiello took the time to address the pivotal antagonist.

"The Governor's origin story, which I imagine would have to include his former ally Milt, seems like a golden opportunity for new showrunner Scott Gimple - especially since David Morrissey is back as a regular in Season 4," he explained.

"But I honestly have no idea if it's in the cards. The show could just as easily wind up being too busy with new recurring characters like Laura, a single mom and ex-nurse who isn't quite as strong as she first appears; Melody, a 'just one of the guys' kinda gal in her 20s; and Don, who sounds like Hershel, if Hershel were crankier and two-legged," Ausiello said.

AMC's The Walking Dead will be kicking off its new season on Sunday, October 13 at 9/8 p.m. Central. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the hit zombie series. Check some recent behind-the-scenes footage of Season 4 below!
