To the excitement of its many fans, Showtime's hit TV show Dexter is officially back on the cable network.

One of the newer parts due to have a significant impact on the popular program is the role of U.S. Marshall Cooper, being played by Kenny Johnson. The actor will make his debut on episode 8, "Are We There Yet?," which is slated to air on Aug. 18.

Without giving away too much, executive producer Sara Colleton spoke to TVLine about the former Shield standout Kenny Johnson.

"I can't really tell anything because it will tip stuff that starts happening. We were so thrilled that we were ever able to get an actor of his caliber for this three or four-episode arc. He's fabulous, and it's a wonderful [role]," he said.

Although nothing has yet to be speculated, Johnson's character could very well be on a manhunt for one of the main characters. Only time will tell if he's got his eye on catching Dexter (Michael C. Hall).

Next up for Showtime's Dexter will be its Every Silver Lining episode, which will air on Sunday, July 7 at 9/8 p.m. Central. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on America's favorite serial killer. The trailer for the upcoming episode can be watched below.
