'Girls' Star Lena Dunham Planned to Buy $24,000 Sofa, Reveals She Has Never Felt 'More Raw'
Girls creator and star Lena Dunham has never been one to flaut her success -- or cash flow -- so a newly revealed e-mail has her feeling "raw."
Artist and filmmaker Miranda July got 10 celebrities, including Dunham, to forward her e-mails as part of her We Think Alone project.
"The first installment of @Miranda_July's #wethinkalone. I have never felt more raw than sharing an e-mail about my finances," Dunham tweeted on Monday.
Her e-mail correspondence was about her decision to not purchase a $24,000 couch from Sweden.
"Decided it's just too expensive:)," she e-mailed her assistant, upon hearing the cost of the sofa.
After publishing the e-mail, July added, "I needed someone who would deliver, and knew that Lena Dunham would be totally uninhibited."
"And I was kind of surprised with Lena Dunham by how many [emails] are to her boyfriend [fun. rocker Jack Antonoff]. I assume Jack knows she's doing this. And that he's cool with it," July said.
Kirsten Dunst also took part in the project, sharing an e-mail she sent from her iPhone about selling her used car to a pal.
The Spider-Man star writes, "My friend Jessica is buying my car for 7,000 I gave her your info for payments. She's going to pay 2,000 up front and then pay the rest as fast as she can. Thanks, Kirsten."
