Following another week without Rookie Blue, due to the Fourth of July holiday, the ABC drama is back on Thursday with a brand new episode.

In this week's episode, the Kids Are Not Alright, Andy and Gail are ready for their much anticipated getaway while working a routine highway check when they come across an unexpected discovery of teenage boy gagged in the trunk of a car. The two find themselves in a difficult decision when they must try and save the boy from a tragic mistake.

Swarek, Oliver and Chris to be on the trail of a gunman who shot a teenager that may have had connections to a gang.

In the last episode, Different Not Better, Andy was determined to find out what was so special about Sam's new girlfriend, Marlo. When Andy asked Traci's advice on the type of person Marlo is, Traci responded that she is a nice girl, saying she's "different, not better," in comparison to Andy.

At the station, Dove got a rude awakening when he found out that his one night stand, Chloe is Chief Frank Best's god daughter. Chloe, a rookie cop, only on the job for 8 months just transferred into 15 Division from 27 Division. During role call, the division dispersed out to track down an ATM burglar and Chief Frank paired Chloe and Dov together.

Andy was paired with Marlo, much to their liking. Their different ways of handling the job were tested during a emotionally disturbed woman when they came across a mentally ill woman, Wanda, who was off her medicines was having problems with a neighbor. Andy told Marlo that the woman would be fine once she had taken her medicine. They left Wanda for another job, but received a call to her residency, where they discovered that a neighbor had been stabbed. Andy came upon Wanda in the basement threatening a child. When the boy tried to flee, Wanda goes to stab him, but Marlo shoots Wanda almost killing her.
