Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D would like to introduce you to a new character - Agent Grant Ward.

The new show from Joss Whedon is set to premier on ABC sometime this fall, but Marvel is giving fans a quick peek at some of the characters in advance.

While most are aware that Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) has somehow resurrected himself following the events of last year's The Avengers, the rest of the S.H.I.E.L.D. characters remain rather unknown to Marvel fans.

Judging by Coulson's need to explain that there are superheroes in the world and another character asking if he knows what S.H.I.E.L.D. stands for, Ward is undoubtedly new to the operation. But being new doesn't mean he lacks experience.

Portrayed by Brett Dalton (Killing Lincoln), a new character video allows the actor to explain Ward's black ops background.

"Anything that involves reconnaissance skills of like a military nature he is brilliant at," Dalton says of his character. "But he's just no so great with the people skills."

The video shows of Ward's skills as he opens locks and dangles from helicopters, and his shortcomings as he fails to win over interrogations and turns Coulson's attempted joke into a rather awkward situation.

It is a safe bet that Marvel will be releasing more of these character videos as the premiere date approaches and it will be interesting to see what the other agents have to bring to the team.
