'America's Got Talent' 2013 Recap of Vegas Part 1, VIDEOS: Forte & Deanna DellaCioppa Excel
The first Vegas episode of America's Got Talent aired Tuesday night and the numerous acts that were sent through from the audition rounds were either approved or rejected for the live shows.
The acts were split up into three groups: those who would immediately advance to the live shows at Radio City Music Hall, those who would be eliminated immediately and those who the judges wanted to see a second time to fill in a few more slots for the live shows.
Some of the first acts to advance to the live shows included child singer Anna Christine, "one-hit-wonder" Tone the Chiefrocca and martial arts-style dancer Kenichi Ebina. There were a few acts that had standout auditions but were immediately cut by the judges. Included in that group were child ballroom dancers Yasha and Daniela, country singer Milton Patton and college dropout singer Sully Dunn.
Those who were asked to come back for another performance were split up into categories: danger acts, singing groups, child performers, comedians, acrobats and female singers. Here are the highlight acts from each group:
DANGER ACTS:
A sword swallower, Alexandr Magala climbed up a pole and then slid down it with the sword in mouth. The judges were on the edge of their seats, especially Heidi Klum.
SINGING GROUPS:
Opera trio Forte replaced a member from their original audition with another singer. The trio performed The Prayer by Andrea Bocelli, which caused judge Howard Stern to say that they were incredibly strong.
CHILD ACTS:
D'Angelo & Amanda performed a ballroom dance routine to the song Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5 and did not seem to miss a step. Judge Howie Mandel said that they were amazing.
COMEDIANS:
Taylor Williamson made the most of his routine by commenting on the awkwardness of only performing for four people. He had the judges laughing through his entire act, much more than any other comedian's performance.
DANCERS:
Dylan Wilson charmed the judges again with his wavy-armed, robotic dance moves that seemed perfectly in step with the music. Wilson also wore a shirtf featuring an image of Mandel smiling, telling the judge that he hoped the smile would be contagious.
ACROBATS:
Timber Brown performed his acrobatic act wearing a cowboy act. He swung between two poles effortlessly and showed off his flexibility. Stern couldn't help but say "wow" out loud in the middle of the performance.
FEMALE SINGERS:
After a technical difficulty with her track, Deanna DellaCioppa came out a second time and performed a cover of I Won't Let Go by Rascal Flatts. Her powerful voice wowed the judges, especially in her final notes.
The next episode of America's Got Talent will air Wednesday night at 9 p.m. on NBC. It will feature the conclusion of the Vegas round before going to the live shows at Radio City Music Hall in New York City next Tuesday.
