The characters in Under the Dome may face life-threatening danger from the military in the show's upcoming episode.

The military are going to arrange for a Visitor's Day in episode 5, according to a Wednesday report by TV Guide. During this Visitor's Day, those residents of Chester's Mill who managed to get out of the town before the dome came down will have a chance to see their loved ones.

The military also plans on launching a missile at the dome in order to break through it. If the military were to do this, they would be risking a multitude of injuries from the residents trapped under the dome. Barbie's (Mike Vogel) military experience will also reportedly come in handy in the respective episode. All of these events will occur in episode 5, titled Blue on Blue, which airs Monday, July 22 at 10 p.m. on CBS.

Under the Dome series creator Brian K. Vaughan told The Hollywood Reporter in a report published Tuesday that the residents of Chester's Mill would finally be getting some "big answers" from the outside world. In episode 5 they will be able to talk to their loved ones and get information on what's happening outside the dome.

Vaughan added that there will also be some interesting developments with Big Jim (Dean Norris) in the upcoming episode. He said that after discovering Angie (Britt Robertson) in his cellar, Big Jim will be faced with the reaction from the townspeople.

"It's a big, shocking development," Vaughan said, "and we'll find out very early in next week's episode what happens."

In other Under the Dome news, the series was up in the ratings for episode 4 compared to last week's third episode. 11.13 million viewers watched the series Monday night, compared to the 10.71 million who watched last week.
