The hit British-American TV drama Downton Abbey has garnered a slew of attention for its upcoming fourth season, as most of its loyalists are undoubtedly dying to know just how Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) will move forward, following the abrupt death of late hubby Matthew's (Dan Stevens).

According to Inquisitr, Lady Cora (Elizabeth McGovern) will attempt to set her widowed daughter up with some potential suitors, but Mary will initially not be interested.

Although the character's death is a sad time for Downton fans, Dockery did go on to say that the predicament should open up "a whole door of opportunity for Mary."

"She's really grown up. When I look back to series one, she was a teenager really, a petulant, spoiled girl, and now she's a woman," she said.

Downton Abbey is slated to kick off in the U.S. on Jan. 5, 2014, and run until February 23, 2014. Only time will truly tell what lies in the cards for Lady Mary and her relationship status.
