Agent Coulson Lives: Clark Gregg's Character Doesn't Know Truth of Revival in 'Agents of Shield' Pilot, Marvel Comic-Con News
Agent Coulson is defiantly alive and well following his purported death in last year's The Avengers.
Coulson (Clark Gregg) was murdered by Loki (Tom Hiddleston) during the hit film and his death was used a leverage to get the members of the Avengers to work as one. Now the much-loved agent has resurfaced during the world premiere showing of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD pilot at the San Diego Comic-Con.
While fans clamor to discover the secret of Coulson's resurrection, some viewers seem to have different reactions to how the character's revival was treated.
"Coulson's death was faked," ComingSoon live blogged at the conclusion of the screening. "Pure and simple. No smoke and mirrors there... but there was a joke about how long he had to hold his breath."
The agent himself appears to believe he was only dead for a total of eight seconds before being somehow revived by the SHIELD team, according to Entertainment Weekly.
However, all may not be as it seems. Apparently other Agents of SHIELD characters know something that Coulson doesn't, Entertainment Weekly reports. There appears to be whispering within the agency that Coulson doesn't know the whole truth.
"I don't know much yet, I don't know if that's exactly how I would phrase what happens because I've only shot the pilot," Gregg cryptically told Collider at the Saturn Awards. "There are still going to be some questions after the pilot and some things will be answered."
It appers Joss Whedon is going to keep viewers guessing as the first season moves on.
