Falling Skies Season 3 Spoilers: Comic-Con Reveals, Tom Tortured, and a Volm Betrayal? VIDEO
The last three episodes of Falling Skies season 3 look to be full of twists, turns, and sudden reveals.
On Friday night the Falling Skies cast took the stage at Comic-Con to talk about the hit TNT sci-fi drama. As a special treat, con-goers were shown a preview of what will become of the 2nd Mass in the next few weeks.
The end of last week's "The Pickett Line" saw Tom (Noah Wyle) captured by Skitters, the Mason boys moving on in their search for Anne (Moon Bloodgood) and baby Lexi, Lourdes revealed as a traitor, the Volm weapon shown to be potentially dangerous, and the Espheni plan to use a web over the earth to kill humanity revealed.
In the new clip it looks like the 2nd Mass is heading into all out battle, and with a bit of alien weaponry on their side. While that tidbit may look like a hopeful beacon of light for both the resistance and devoted viewers, there's a lot of distressing scenes as well.
It appears that the Espheni web is activated and, instead of using their secretive weapon to help, it looks like the Volm will turn on the humans.
"We have no need for your participation," one of the Volm can be heard saying when Tom protests the alien's plans. Later, after a shot of heavily armed Volm looking rather menacing, Pope (Colin Cunningham) is seen telling Weaver (Will Patton) that the Volm have done what the fish-heads [the Espheni] could not.
Whether this means the Volm have successfully found a way to subjugate humanity or if they have plotted a way to destroy the species entirely is unclear.
Although the online preview shows Tom being tortured by Karen (Jessy Schram), it doesn't show what CinemaBlend's live blogger stated he saw at the panel, which is Tom shooting a main character in the face.
However, those who were worried about the health and well being of Hal (Drew Roy) can now relax. Roy confirmed that his character will be a less evil person next season after he recovers from the alien bug, according to CinimaBlend. It seems as if the unconventional treatment the rebel Skitters gave him may have no lasting ill effects.
The next episode of Falling Skies airs on TNT at 10 p.m. this Sunday.
