'Under the Dome' Spoilers: Barbie/Julia Romance Ahead & Season 1 Details from Comic-Con 2013 [VIDEO]
The cast and crew of Under the Dome gathered at a panel at Comic-Con in San Diego, Calif. Sunday and teased what was ahead in the current season.
Rachelle Lefevre, who plays reporter Julia Shumway on the show, revealed that a romance is brewing between her character and Barbie (Mike Vogel).
"Jack Bender, who directed [Monday's episode], said, 'Guys, this is your Adam and Eve moment," Lefevre said, explaining that the development would stay true to the chemistry between them. "There's been all this destruction, and this is the beginning of something. They have a long way to go and a lot to talk about, but there's something there that's very hard to deny."
Vogel explained that Barbie's many secrets will soon become known to the people of Chester's Mill, which will then force him to come clean to the town. He said his character "certainly complicates things."
"There's a lot of accusations brought against Barbie," he added, "but people are going to have to look past a lot of the good that he's done while he's been here so he'll have to reconcile that."
Under the Dome producer Neil Baer revealed that there are still more characters that have yet to be introduced, including "some mysterious women" who have been "trapped." He added that there are about 2,000 people trapped under the dome, many of which we have not met that may become crucial to the story going forward. The producers also described episode 7, which airs Aug. 5, as a "game-changer" during which there will be a reveal to the mystery of whether or not the dome is a sphere.
Producer Brian K. Vaughan concluded the panel by saying that the season finale will end with "a hell of a cliffhanger," joking that viewers will be screwed if Under the Dome does not get picked up for a second season.
The fifth episode of Under the Dome will air Monday night at 10 p.m. on CBS.
