'Bates Motel' Season 2 Spoilers: Kenny Johnson, Michael Vartan, Rebecca Creskoff Cast in Key Roles [VIDEO]
Three roles have been cast for the second season of Bates Motel, all of which are important to the show's main characters.
Sons of Anarchy actor Kenny Johnson has been cast in the role of Caleb, Norma Bates' (Vera Farmiga) estranged brother, according to Deadline Tuesday. Norma revealed in the season 1 finale that Caleb forced her to have sex with him when they were teenagers. Caleb will reunite with Norma in season 2 after he visits White Pine Bay to try and convince her to join his business venture.
Michael Vartan (Alias) will join the cast as George, a love interest for Norma. George is described as a charming, recently divorced man who makes a connection with Norma.
Finally, Hung actress Rebecca Creskoff will be playing Christine in season 2, an upper class woman who becomes the first female friend Norma has ever had. Christine will bring Norma into White Pine Bay Society's "upper circle."
As for what the new season will entail, few other details have been revealed. Bates Motel executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin talked to Entertainment Weekly in a report Monday about season 2.
When asked to give a three-word tease for the new season, Cuse said a big theme will be "Who am I?" Ehrin teased, "Love, hope, tragedy."
In other Bates Motel news, Farmiga was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards. She told The New York Times Thursday that she was "tickled pink" by the recognition.
"I know how hard I worked and I know how challenged I was and I know the input into this characterization - just psychically, spiritually, emotionally, physically - for me," Farmiga told Entertainment Weekly, referring to getting recognized by the Television Academy.
Season 2 of Bates Motel is set to premiere in early 2014 on A&E.
