The world of Supernatural will be getting a new addition in the coming year.

While the CW show made the rounds at Comic-Con last weekend, executive producer Robert Singer reportedly stated that a spin-off is in the works for the sci-fi drama, according to TV Line.

"We're doing a spin-off later in the year; I think it should be in episode 20, so there may be a new incarnation of [Supernatural]," Singer said, according to Clique Clack.

While it appears that episode 20 will serve as a backdoor pilot for the new production, co-executive producer Jeremy Carver warns that the new series is not set in stone.

"It may be a teeny bit premature to talk about it," Carver told Clique Clack during a press session at Comic-Con.

Although characters come and go on the program fairly regularly, the new show is set to feature someone viewers have not seen before. Nor will the show follow the same wayward, on the road settings as Supernatural.

"The [Winchester] boys are in that story but it's actually a whole new cast of characters and a little more urban setting than the back roads of America that we have been doing for eight years," Singer stated.

Current Supernatural writer Andrew Dabb is penning the project but actual plot details are essentially non-existent. While the Supernatural universe is fairly extensive, one of the more prominent rumors points to the possibility of a Men of Letters theme for the impending show.
