BBC One's Sherlock continues to draw optimal interest for its upcoming third season, which recently attached a notable villain character in Lars Mikkelsen.

The upcoming storyline is said to be honing in on "Watson's downward spiral" following the bogus death of Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch), which he thinks is legit.

Nonetheless, the season 3 premiere episode of the popular program will be called The Empty Horse, and will more than likely revolve around Doyle's The Adventures of the Empty House, according to International Business Times.

In other Sherlock news, The Sun, had reported on the gratification that Cumberbatch felt when he got its finale script, which he said was similar to receiving another "birthday present." The actor also commended showrunner Steven Moffat in the process.

"I just got the script and it's another early birthday present, because it is amazing. I don't want to hype it too much because we haven't made it yet but what a script! Steven Moffat is brilliant. We shoot in about a week and a half's time," he said.

BBC One's Sherlock will be returning to the small screen on Thursday, October 31. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the TV series. A fan-made season 3 video trailer can be watched below.
