Anderson Cooper Apologizes after Uncontrollable Giggling
Anderson Cooper apologized after learning that some groups believed he called Dyngus Day "so stupid" during "The Ridiculist" segment on CNN Tuesday.
Cooper made headlines today after exploding into laughs on air while covering the holiday that celebrates the end of Lent.
"Just learned some groups believe I called Dyngus Day 'so stupid' in ridiculist. I didn't. I was saying my giggling fit was 'so stupid" he tweeted.
Then again he wrote.
"In ridiculist I called my silly giggle fit 'so stupid; not Dyngus Day. Sounds like a fun celebration. Genuinely sorry if I offended anyone," Cooper said in his Twitter Wednesday.
"Actually I put those who missed the celebration on the ridiculist. Check the transcript," he added.
Dyngus Day's organizers in Buffalo, New York, reportedly reached out to Cooper to invite him for the festivity next year.
Cooper's uncontrollable giggling began after a local news anchor explained a tradition of Dyngus Day where boys sprinkle girls they fancy with water, and girls strike back with a "tap from a pussy willow brancTh."
