The After Party, starring Tiffany Haddish, has been renewed at Apple TV+.
It looks like Apple TV+ is planning the after-after party. The hit comedy-murder series, The After Party, is gearing up to air their final episode of season on Friday. In this final episode, viewers anticipate to discover who the murderer was, thereby finitely puncuating the story arc of this season. Therfore, it comes as a plesant surprisde to fans to hear that the well-loved show will be making its way through another mystery. According to an article on The Hollywood Reporter, the next season will still feature Tiffany Haddish as the hilarious Detective Danner while she works on a new case.
The show has captivated audiences everywhere with its something-in-it-for-everyone style. When we say something in it for everyone, we mean it. When every character at this high-school-reunion after party shares their story of the night, they tell it through the vehicle of a different film genre. Audiences get to see everything from rom-coms to horror movies.
According to THR, director and creator Chris Miller accomplished this by looking at the show, "like solving a math problem." He planned the story first and then went back and matched everyone to the film genre that best suited them. I think it's safe to say that he successfully solved it.
