Netflix's next big thing, the Big Mouth spinoff that combines all the raunchiness, humor, and topicality of the adult cartoon with all the metaphysical, self-reflective internality of Pixar's Inside Out; Human Resources comes out on Friday, and we. Can't. Wait.

Human Resources will take a closer look at the world we've only gotten a glimpse of in Big Mouth: The internal world that also serves as the home of Maury, Connie, and all the hormone monsters, as well as other creatures we've gotten to know, such as Walter the lovebug or the Depression Kitty.

And there's even more where that came from: Human Resources goes all out, establishing an entire universe of human feelings and emotions that works hard to illustrate the complexities that can come with event he most common of internal human struggles. Everything from struggling to choose between your girlfriend and your dream school to struggling with post-partum depression is covered on this show - and they use an all-star cast of charming and fascinating characters to do it.

Here's a side-by-side of all the cast of the Human Resources with their respective characters, and we think you'll see that they definitely had some kind of influence on how the animators designed them...either that, or they're going really method this time.

Maya Rudolph as Connie

Yes, don't worry, she's back: Renowned comedian known for her time on SNL as well as roles like the Judge on The Good Place, Maya Rudolph will be returning as Connie for Human Resources - and yes, she does have a major role to play. We don't get to see any of her kids in this one, but we do get to see another side of her - which is just as fun.

Nick Kroll as Maury

Of course, we wouldn't be anywhere without the show's creator: Nick Kroll also returns as Maury the Hormone Monster for this show, and we'll get to learn more about his relationship with Connie - and everyone else he's doing it with - as well as see him in a different context than usual: If you can believe it, he's actually pretty calm and on top of things compared to the other hormone monsters.

Brandon Kyle Goodman as Walter

Yet another return from Big Mouth, Brandon Kyle Goodman will voice Walter the Lovebug yet again - and yes, he's prepped to grace us with his beautiful singing voice at least once this season. Goodman started off as a writer on the original show, but he's clearly moving on up, as that one part has turned into a much more major role in Human Resources.

Jemaine Clement as Simon Sex

We swear, SOME of the cast is new...but how could you even think of not including some of these amazing characters they came up with already? Jemaine Clement, the New Zealand comedian best known for Flight of the Conchords, will be returning as the newly-introduced character Simon Sex, and we'd challenge you to find anyone on this list who looks more like their character than he does.

Hugh Jackman as Dante

Yes, you are looking at this picture correctly: The incomparable Hugh Jackman has taken a role in Human Resources as well, playing a brand new character: Dante the Addiction Angel. It'll be fun to see what Jackman does with this role: Dante is a party boy who has very little care for the thoughts or feelings of others around him, including his girlfriend, Emmy the Lovebug (the main character of this particular show - we'll get to her in a second).

Randall Park as Pete

Fresh Off The Boat's Randall Park will play another new character: Pete the Logic Rock, an awkward, uptight - but adorable - team member who runs the logic systems in people's brains. In a show that's entirely composed of bizarre, off-the-wall comedy, it's ridiculously and comedically refreshing to have your classic "straight man" in the mix.

Aidy Bryant as Emmy

Here's our main character! Saturday Night Live's own Aidy Bryant gets the spotlight in Human Resources as the de-facto main character: As a young, insecure intern just coming into herself as a professional Lovebug, Emmy has a lot to learn about love - what it looks like, where it hides, and even how to find it for herself - and we get to follow along as she learns on the job.

Ali Wong as Becca

We know, we know, Baby Cobra comedian Ali Wong isn't pregnant anymore - we just couldn't resist this ridiculously similar comparison picture between her and her character, Becca. Becca is a highly driven and ambitious lawyer who - minor spoiler alert - has a baby in the very first episode of Human Resources, and has to deal with all the emotional complexity and exhaustion that comes with that...with brand-new-to-the-job Lovebug Emmy by her side, just as lost as she is.

Maria Bamford as Tito

Comedian Maria Bamford has built an entire career arount being open and honest about her struggles with anxiety - and now she actually gets to PLAY anxiety personified in Human Resources. Tito, the Anxiety Mosquito, is a character we already know well from Big Mouth, but we'll get to see her role expanded a bit as we begin to understand anxiety's functions in the Human Resources department as a whole.

Pamela Adlon as Sonya

And now, meet the reason a novice Lovebug was assigned to a heavily pregnant careerwoman in the first place: Sonya, her previous boss, who is fired and carried out of the building bodily in the very first episode. If you think you recognize her voice from another adult cartoon, you're correct: Pamela Adlon also voices Bobby Hill on King of the Hill.

Keke Palmer as Rochelle

Here's one of the most adorable and appropriate castings - and side-by-side examples - in the whole show: Keke Palmer, who got her start on the Nickelodeon show True Jackson VP and will soon star in Jordan Peele's upcoming horror film NOPE, plays Rochelle the Lovebug. Rochelle isn't a main character exactly, but she's a huge help to Emmy as she tries to learn the ropes of...love...bugging.

Helen Mirren as the Shame Wizard's 'Mummy'

Here's another huge casting: Renowned actress Helen Mirren guest stars as none other than the Shame Wizard's "Mummy" (his mother, just to be clear), and yes, she's everything you'd expect from that guy's mother: Condescending, dismissive, and cold. Just like a good Shame Wizard should be.

Jean Smart as Depression Kitty

Here's another return from Big Mouth that get's a much bigger spotlight in HR: Frasier's Jean Smart is back as Depression Kitty, and she's surprisingly a little easier to not hate in this one. When you see her in the context of her workplace, it's much clearer that she's not always the villain (even if she still is sometimes) - she's just doing her job.

David Thewlis as the Shame Wizard

Of course, how could we have the Shame Wizard's mother without bringing back Shamey himself? (Actually, his name is Lionel, but we digress.) Actor David Thewlis - best known stateside as Remus Lupin from Harry Potter - gets to be a wizard YET AGAIN when he returns in Human Resources.

(Also, speaking as a longtime fan of Big Mouth AND Remus Lupin: I had no idea this was him. I'm freaking out right now.)

Lupita Nyongo'o as A Different Shame Wizard

Talk about your star-studded cast: Oscar-award winning actress Lupita Nyong'o also graces Human Resources with her presence, playing another, distinctly more put-together Shame Wizard...could it be possible our dear Lionel has met a match to do...shameful things with? We'll have to wait and see. (Honestly, we're not sure if we're really hoping for that here...he's still creepy.)O

Bobby Cannavale as Gavin

Here's another human man who somehow manages to look a concerning amount like his hormone monster counterpart, despite the fact that they are clearly different species: Bobby Cannavale, an actor best known for supporting roles in films like Ant-Man and Chef, returns as Gavin the hormone monster, whose methods and ethics somehow make Maury look like one of the best possible choices around.

Thandiwe Newton as Mona

Yes, she's back too! Missy's sassy hormone monstress Mona is back for the new show, and so is her voice actor, Mission Impossible 2 star Thandiwe Newton - who is also known for roles in films like Crash, Beloved, and The Pursuit of Happyness.

Rosie Perez as Petra the Ambition Goblin

Last but not least: Actress Rosie Perez, known best for Spike Lee's Do The Right Thing and White Man Can't Jump, joins the HR crew as Petra the ambition gremlin - she's in charge of pushing the envelope and making sure her humans go as far as they can go to reach their dreams in life.
