Schwartz did not tell anyone, quite literally ANYONE, that he was the murderer. He told fewer people that he was the perpetrator in The Afterparty than Andrew Garfield told that he was in Spider-Man: No Way Home (and he even lied to Emma Stone). Schwartz did not tell his mom, his dad, his girlfriend, either of his managers, or anyone else in his life. The commitment to the dramatic reveal speaks volumes to Schwartz's commitment to creating the best art he possibly can.

Even after all of his screentime, Schwartz still delights in the delicious moments that each new role presents. He was especially excited about his murderous-reveal in The Afterparty. He shared with Collider that when the series director Chris Miller emailed the hilarious actor, it was said:

"'Hey, we have a show we want you to be in. I wrote this role for you.' All of a sudden, it's like, they're top five directors for me. I was of course, whatever you want. And he said, 'It's going to be a genre. Yours is going to be musical. And beyond that, you are the killer.' I literally thought in my head of, oh my God, I get to have that moment where the detective looks at me and says, 'It's you.' And in my head, I was already like, I cannot wait for that moment."

Schwartz went on to share that, if you watch the series back, he in fact works several clues into the show. A second watch with an observant eye will give even more credit to Ben Schwartz's undeniable genius.
