'American Horror Story' Season 3 Spoilers: Set PHOTOS Reveal Another Season 1 Cast Member Returning for 'Coven'
The first set photos for American Horror Story's third season were released online Wednesday, featuring many of the show's actresses.
The horror anthology series is filming in New Orleans, La. for its third season, subtitled Coven. A fan behind the blog VJBrendan took pictures of the various actresses on set as they were filming a scene.

One of the pictures features series regular Jessica Lange wearing all black and walking down a New Orleans street. Also featured in the picture was Jamie Brewer (also in all black), who played Adelaide in season 1 of American Horror Story. Brewer had not previously been confirmed to be returning to the series this season, but the picture confirms her status on the show.
In another picture, Lange led a pack of women while holding an umbrella above her head. Directly following Lange were actresses Lily Rabe, Brewer, Emma Roberts and Gabourey Sidibe, all of which had black hats in addition to their black clothing.
The blogger said that he was able to watch Lange and Roberts film a scene together, which indicates that the actresses might come in close contact with each other this season.

Speaking of Roberts, the blogger posted pictures of her on the set Saturday with Evan Peters, her boyfriend-turned-co-star. The blonde-haired couple was seen holding hands and smiling. It is unknown if the couple was filming any scenes together.
With these set photos released, the plot of American Horror Story: Coven may be slowly coming together. Based on the way the actresses were placed, Lange's character, Gwen, seems to be the leader of a group of witches.

Also, Rabe previously said that she would be in close contact with Kathy Bates' character in the coming season, so her character may be pulling double duty by being in contact with both her and Lange's character. Lange and Bates' characters will have one of the central conflicts of the season.
The FX network will be sending representatives to the Television Critics Association press tour on Friday so there may be new details on American Horror Story revealed.
Season 3 will premiere in October on FX.
