The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis was an old-timey sit-com which followed the life of a teenager that spent his time chasing after beautiful women. Now, we are not sure that this show would have been made today given our modern sensibilities, but there is one entertainment arena which has a bit of a hilarious similarity.

Much in the way Dobie Gillis is constantly chasing beautiful women, it seems that the stars of Saturday Night Live, tend to find themselves dating an array of A-list celebrities who find their way onto the 8H stage.

This is not to suggest that these relationships are completely unheard of (it makes sense that stars from different sides of the entertainment world would be drawn to each other), but it is surprising just how many cast members have managed to date people who either hosted, had a cameo on, or later went on to Saturday Night Live.

Here are just a few of The Many Loves of Saturday Night Live.

1. Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian

Kardashian and Davidson met formally when the Keeping Up with the Kardashians alum hosted Saturday Night Live back in the fall. The two kissed during an Aladdin sketch, and, from the calculatedly created timelines of fans, their relationship took off from there.

2. Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson

Another Staten Island native SNL cast member! Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson met the first time that she hosted the show. While, as is recounted in Colin Jost's autobiography A Very Punchable Face, Johansson has revealed that he thought Jost was cute the first time they met, but nothing transpired fully between the two until she hosted the show again.

Since that time, the couple has been married. They were married at an intimate ceremony during the pandemic. Johannson has hosted the late night sketch show once again during that time, back in December of 2019.

3. Jimmy Fallon and Winona Ryder

Little known fact, the former Saturday Night Live cast member and current host of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, once dated Winona Ryder. The two dated in the 2000s while Jimmy Fallon was a cast member on the late night show. Ryder hosted the sketch show back in 2002. By that time, their month-long relationship had, obviously, already come to an end, but they have remained friends before and since that time.

4. Eddie Murphy and Whitney Houston

The relationship between Eddie Murphy and Whitney Houston is filled with speculation: particularly speculation about whether or not it happened. The timeline and reality of their relationship is a thing of lore. In a 2013 interview with Extra, Murphy said,"I was never dating Whitney...She was a friend of mine. I may have gone to dinner with her a few times, but it was never like we were dating - we were never boyfriend and girlfriend."

However, other sources tell the story differently. Robyn Crawford wrote in her book A Song for You: My Life with Whitney Houston, Murphy called Houston on the day of her wedding to Bobby Brown, telling her she was making a mistake in marrying him. She went ahead with the wedding anyway.

5. Bill Hader and Anna Kendrick

Bill Hader and Anna Kendrick are actually PRESENT TENSE dating. They have been keeping their relationship impressively quiet. The two met a few years ago when Anna Kendrick hosted Saturday Night Live. Since that time, the two have worked on other projects together and eventually found their way to each other.

The two began dating around the time or slightly after they were filming Noelle together. They are both private and used the pandemic to their advantage, dating outside of the public eye. An insider told People that, "Anna has been dating Bill quietly for over a year...They met years ago. She's hosted Saturday Night Live and they've done a movie together, but they got together well after the movie."

6. Fred Armisen and Elisabeth Moss

Elisabeth Moss and Fred Armisen met when the Mad Men actress made a cameo on a 2008 episode of Saturday Night Live. After that meeting, one thing led to another, and the couple was married by 2009. Unfortunately, the couple split up a few short months later. "Irreconcilable differences," were cited as the reason behind the divorce.

While both she and Armised agree that the marriage needed to come to an end, neither has been explicit about the reasons for the divorce. In an interview with People, Moss shared, "I've never told anyone that. And I don't want to waste any more of my life talking about it."

7. Dan Aykroyd and Carrie Fisher

Dan Aykroyd and Carrie Fisher met when Fisher came onto Saturday Night Live. They met on the iconic Studio 8H stage, but the two did not start dating until a little while later when Blues Brothers was being filmed. He shared in a tribute to the late actress:

"While filming Blues Brothers, Carrie and I fell in love and during the shoot she moved in with me into a penthouse suite in the futuristic, aluminum-clad Astro Tower, which I knew to apologize for. Carrie had the most refined eye for art and design."

8. Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson

No, these two never dated (shocking, we know). However, these two SNL cast members have the longest track records of dating women who either hosted or appeared on Saturday Night Live. They are also two of the youngest cast members ever to join the show.

While Eddie Murphy was not a cast member at these times, he also had significant relationships with Halle Berry and Mel B of The Spice Girls. Pete Davidson dated Phoebe Dynevor and Ariana Grande. Honestly, we could make our own list with these two alone!

We can't wait to see who is going to be added in this list for years to come!
