Lizzo Marks ‘SNL’ Debut by Sharing Pregnancy With Chris Evans Joke: ‘Manifesting’
Lizzo mentioned Chris Evans during her opening monologue on "Saturday Night Live," and she even brought back the pregnancy buzz she created before.
"SNL" formally welcomed Lizzo on the show as a host and musical guest over the weekend. But before she started her stint, she blessed everyone with a hilarious opening speech featuring the "Avengers" star.
"I read a lot of gossips online that I'm dating every white boy in Hollywood. They think I'm collecting One Direction members like Infinity Stones," she said. "It could have been the TikTok I did where I said, 'I'm pregnant with Chris Evans' baby.' It's called manifesting."
Following her opening segment, viewers showered her with praises and love, saying they would love to see her back on stage.
For what it's worth, Lizzo created a buzz when she shared a viral TikTok video where she said she was expecting her child with Evans. The MCU star, in return, "approved" the idea and responded to her video.
"Hi! Just heard about our little bundle of joy my mother will be so happy lol," he told the "Juice" singer through direct message. "(Just promise me no gender reveal parties lol)."
On another TikTok video, the "Exactly How I Feel" singer shared a screenshot of Evans' message and caused everyone to feel envious of her.
Lizzo exclaimed that Evans saw the "baby bump" and even asked her followers to give her the best name for the "kid."
More From Lizzo!
Aside from the Evans joke, Lizzo shared more of herself during her monologue and performance.
She told the crowd that she would make history by breaking a record. She then cussed after claiming she hates saying bad words in front of her mother, who was seen sitting with the live audience. According to Lizzo, her mother initially did not want her to use profanities but approved it now that "she is rich."
"I love you, you are beautiful and you can do anything. I'm living proof of that. I used to live in my car and now I'm hosting 'Saturday Night Live,' " she said in the end.
Lizzo, as a musical guest, performed "About Damn Time." She then introduced her daughter during her second performance. The singer donned a corset as she sang her single from her upcoming album, "Special."
It became her second time since she made an appearance on the show. She first graced the "SNL" stage in 2019 when Eddie Murphy returned.
