Keeping the Drama on Screen: 'Euphoria' Stars Sydney Sweeney and Maude Apatow Could NOT Stop Laughing During This Scene!
[SPOILER WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE MOST RECENT EPISODE OF EUPHORIA]
Sydney Sweeney and Maude Apatow play sisters on the hit HBO series Euphoria. Playing these roles has made the two of them incredibly close friends, creating an unbreakable bond between the two.
However, in a show as dramatic as Euphoria, that closeness is often contradicted by the major tensions in the script. For example, in the final episode of the season, their two characters, Cassie and Lexi Howard, have a major blow-up fight.
While it was gut-wrenching for all of us to watch at home, the actresses themselves had a very different experience. According to an article on People, the two young stars could not stop crying-laughing while they were filming this incredibly dramatic scene.
Just before filming the scene, the actors made the hilarious mistake of watching a video that just cracked them up.
"Right before [that] scene, we watched a video of us presenting at the Creative Emmys where we completely froze, and it made us start crying laughing...There were tears streaming down my face." Apatow similarly recalled the hilarious moment, explaining, "I don't think I've ever laughed that hard in my life. We were trying to explain [to the audience in the scene] why we were laughing and crying, and they just didn't get it."
No matter how dramatic things get on screen, it is wonderful to know that there is so much love behind it.
"Whenever we have a stressful day, knowing that we have each other to talk to is really nice."
We can't wait to see what fantastic drama these true friends bring to Euphoria season three.
