Cory Monteith's mom, Ann McGregor, sent well wishes to Glee fans, finally breaking her silence after his untimely death.

"I would like to thank all of Cory's supporters at this extremely emotional time," she tweeted on Aug. 1. "Your support has been overwhelming … thank you!"

Monteith was found deceased in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, shortly after noon on July 13. He had checked into the hotel on July 6 and had been expected to check out on the 13th. When he had not done so, hotel staff checked his room and found him deceased. He was 31.

The BC Coroners Service confirmed Monteith died from a mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol. The post-mortem testing, which included an autopsy and toxicological analysis, seem to confirm this was an accident.

Lea Michele also broke her silence on Twitter, thanking Glee fans for their support.

"Spending the day surrounded by great friends..Hope you all are having a good day.." she wrote. "Sending lots of love to you all.."

"Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support," the 26-year-old wrote. "Cory will forever be in my heart."

Last week, Fox announced that production on Glee would be pushed back until August in the wake of Monteith's sudden death. The postponement subsequently moved the show's Season 5 premiere back a week, to Sept. 26.
