As Teresa and Joe Giudice face the possibility of spending the next 50 years in jail due to a fraud indictment, fellow Real Housewives of New Jersey star Caroline Manzo is finally weighing in on the couple's financial problems.

Appearing on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live on Sunday, Aug. 4, Manzo told host Andy Cohen that she reached out to Teresa on Monday, July 29.

"I texted her the day of the indictment, I did," Manzo recalled. "I sent a message that I'll keep to myself, and she did respond back, which I'm going to keep to myself as well."

"I can't even wrap my head around it," Manzo said. "It's unexpected. This is a big deal. I think for us, the housewives, we always comment on trivial things, and I think for me, the Manzos, our position is going to stay quiet. It's just too big and too serious for the peanut gallery. I'm just going to leave it at that."

Melissa Gorga: Teresa Giudice and I Shouldn't Gossip Behind Each Other's Backs

On July 29, Teresa and Joe were charged in a 39-count indictment with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, bank fraud, making false statements on loan applications and bankruptcy fraud. The couple were accused of exaggerating their income while applying for loans before their TV show debuted in 2009 -- then hiding how well they were doing in a bankruptcy filing after their first season aired.

Following her court appearance, Teresa broke her silence via Twitter.

"Thank you all so so much for your love and support. It means the world to me and my family," she wrote. "I wish I could hug you all right now."

If convicted, the Giudices -- parents to daughters Gia, 12, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 7, and Audriana, 3 -- face more than 50 years in prison.

During the court hearing on July 30, it was revealed that Joe is not a legal U.S. citizen. If Joe is found guilty, he could be deported to Italy.

The Giudices were each released on $500,000 unsecured bail bonds. They surrendered their passports, and they are not allowed to leave New York or New Jersey until their next hearing, which is scheduled for Aug. 14.
