Weeks after Kerry Washington secretly wed Nnamdi Asomugha earlier this summer, the Scandal star was spotted flaunting her wedding band at the Television Critics Association's Summer Press Tour Disney/ABC party in Beverly Hills on Sunday, Aug. 4.

The 36-year-old actress looked gorgeous in an orange and white Giambattista Valli dress and walked the red carpet in nude Christian Louboutins. She accesorized the look with Vhernier earrings a Nancy Gonzalez handbag. She posed for photographers with a left hand on her hip, showing off her wedding band.

Marking one of her public appearances since she wed the San Francisco 49ers cornerback, Washington kept mum at the event and didn't share any details regarding her June 24 secret wedding.

The Emmy-nominated star did praise Scandal's show creator Shonda Rhimes for showcasing diversity on the ABC primetime hit-show.

"Our show is diverse in terms of gender, age, sexual orientation, in terms of ethnicity, in terms of religion," Washington told Us Weekly. "That, to me, is really one of the things that's special to me."

Washington will duke it out for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category during the 65th 'Primetime Emmy Awards in L.A. Sept 22 against Connie Britton (Nashville), Claire Danes (Homeland), Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel), Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men) and Robin Wright (House of Cards).

"It's pretty extraordinary what's going on," Washington said. "I feel really grateful for the show. I love celebrating with the whole cast together."

Though Washington has kept her personal life very private similar to her on-camera character Olivia, Tony Goldywn who plays her love interest, President Fitzgerald Thomas Grant III said he "sensed a wedding on the way."

"Having been married for a very long time, I'm knowledgable enough to know that I can offer her no advice!" Goldwyn said.
