The Bachelorette 2013 Finale Results Tonight
After six-weeks of competing for Desiree's affections, only one man could become the love of her life. After a two-episode finale and a lot of tears, Chris turned out to be the last man around to last man standing.
Still reeling from her breakup with Brooks the week before, Desiree was unsure if she would be able to extend her feelings to Chris or Drew in the same way.
Drew
The 27-year-old Arizona native received a rose during the last Rose Ceremony. Therefore he had one more date with Des before he would meet her family. However, the date did not go as planned. After taking a horseback ride to the beach, Des admitted that she didn't love Drew. Although he was clearly hurt, Drew appreciated her honesty. If he were to go further in a relationship with Des, he would want her to be as in love with him as he was with her. Early into the two-hour episode, the playing field was suddenly dominated by only one competitor- Chris.
Chris
Unaware that he was the only man left in the game, Chris and Des headed out for their last date on a catamaran. Through voiceovers and real time conversation, both Chris and Des admit that they feel the relationship is going well since they always pickup where they left off, they are always moving forward. When Chris finally meets Desiree's family, he seems to meet her brother's standards and receives her father's blessing if he wishes to ask Des to marry him.
Proposal
Chris shows up to the final Rose Ceremony nervous and prepared to propose. What he desperately wants to hear is that Des loves him since he is unsure about getting engaged to someone who has feelings for another. As he prepares to take a knee, Des garbs him and keeps him standing. While Chris believes this is the beginning of the end, Des tells him she loves him and she should have seen it from the beginning. Chris then gets the chance to actually propose, a question to which Des gives a resounding yes.
