'Under the Dome' Season 1 Spoilers: Big Jim Reveals Junior's Mother's Backstory & Mini-Dome Details [VIDEO]
Under the Dome's villainous Big Jim (Dean Norris) is about to confront his son Junior (Alexander Koch) in a big way.
Norris talked to TVGuide, in a Sunday report, about the next episode, titled Thicker Than Water, and what will happen with Big Jim's relationship with his son.
"It's one of my favorite episodes that we've been building to," Norris revealed. "We deal with a turning point in our relationship. Junior has been told one thing about what his mother has gone through and I reveal something else that really happened with his mom and it's a pretty emotional point."
Enstars previously reported that in episode 8 Junior will learn the truth about his mother, an artist, while episode 9 would find him rediscovering his mother's painting. Norris told TVGuide that the backstory of Junior's mother is important.
"The mother and her backstory comes to play in a very, very important way in episodes down the line," he teased.
As for the newfound mystery of the mini-dome inside the regular dome, Norris said that Big Jim would get involved with it somehow.
"The mini-dome becomes the source of power," he explained. "The question is: When does Big Jim find out about the mini-dome? What does he do about it? What does he know about it and what is he going to do to take control of it?"
Under the Dome executive producer Neal Baer told TVGuide that Norris' performance in episode 8 is "Emmy-worthy" in terms of his acting quality.
Episode 8 of Under the Dome will premiere Monday, Aug. 12 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
