In what was surely an emotional end to Bonnie's (Kat Graham) storyline in season 4 of CW's The Vampire Diaries, Elena's (Nina Dobrev) bestie sacrificed herself in order bring Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) back from the dead.

Graham, who'll be returning to the show in a ghost-like capacity, recently dished to The Hollywood Reporter on Aug. 14 about what fans can expect in the upcoming season from her now deceased character.

"The show starts off where it left off, where the only person that can see her is Jeremy because he can see dead people," she said.

The 23-year-old actress also touched on her new less than ideal circumstance, which will undoubtedly pose some issues when it comes to effectively connecting with the living.

"She loves her friends and family and she can't connect to them, and it creates an intimacy relying on one person as your connection to the one thing that matters the most to you. It's a really beautiful thing to see. She only has him (Jeremy) at this point," Graham said.

In terms of the upcoming installment, Graham said that Bonnie's death will give the popular TV series an opportunity to explore new creative horizons.

"That's something new for the fans. They'll be able to see that side that hasn't been explored yet," she added.

The CW's Vampire Diaries is scheduled to air its fifth season on Thursday, October 10. Its spin-off series, The Originals, will begin season 1 on Tuesday, October 15. Be sure to keep checking back for up-to-date details on the vampire TV series. The trailer for season 5 can be watched below.
