The official premiere date for the fifth season of White Collar was released on Thursday.

The USA network published an official press release, which announced the fifth season of White Collar would premiere Thursday, Oct. 17 at 9 p.m. The series will air a new episode every Thursday at 9 p.m. through the fall season. This is a change from the show's regular Tuesday schedule, which it has kept since January 2010.

According to the press release, the series will pick up where it left off in the season 4 finale. At the end of season 4, Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) was framed and arrested for the murder of Senator Pratt (Titus Welliver). When the series picks up in season 5, Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) will try to clear Peter's name by "making a deal with the devil."

Now, Neal will try to enlist Hagen's help in protecting Peter in prison, and will encounter great difficulty in doing so.
