America's Got Talent aired its fifth live results show of the season Wednesday night, featuring four acts advancing to the semifinals and eight acts getting eliminated.

The Virginia State University Gospel Chorale, singer Dave Fenley and singer Selena Mykenzie Gordon were called forward to hear their results first. Host Nick Cannon announced that Fenley was advancing to the semifinal round. Judge Mel B was pleased with the result and said he deserved to advance. The VSU Gospel Chorale and Gordon were eliminated from the competition.

Next, DJ rappers 2Unique, danger act Sam Johnson, shadow dance troupe Catapult Entertainment and contortionist Melody Caballero were called forward. Cannon revealed that Catapult Entertainment would be advancing to the semifinals. Judge Howard Stern said that America got it right with this result. Johnson, 2Unique and Caballero were eliminated.

Ballroom dancers D'Angelo & Amanda and Ruby & Jonas were called forward next. Cannon announced that D'Angelo & Amanda was advancing to the semifinal round. Ruby & Jonas were eliminated from the competition. Judge Heidi Klum reassured Ruby & Jonas that they were fantastic and congratulated D'Angelo & Amanda on being sent through.

Finally, acrobats Duo Resonance, comedian John Wing and chain reaction artist Sprice were sent forward last. Cannon revealed that Sprice was eliminated from the competition.

Cannon revealed that Wing and Duo Resonance were either fourth or fifth in the voting, meaning the judges had to decide which act to send through to the semifinals. Klum voted for Duo Resonance while Mandel, Mel B and Stern voted for Wing, meaning Wing would advance to the semifinals. Duo Resonance was eliminated from the competition.

Each judge has the ability to vote for a wildcard pick - an act eliminated from the competition that they feel should be brought back to compete. Klum decided to use her wildcard pick on Duo Resonance. Mel B used her wildcard on Tone the Chiefrocca. Mandel and Stern will announce their wildcard picks next week.

On Aug. 27, 12 semifinalists will compete. Dancers Innovative Force, opera trio Forte, acrobats KriStef brothers, comedian Angela Hoover, singer Cami Bradley, magician Collins Key, comedian Taylor Williamson, and opera singer Jonathan Allen were the only acts announced. The four other acts are yet to be announced.
