Britain's Marvelites won't have to miss out on the resurrection of Agent Coulson.

The much-hyped Marvel's Agents of SHIELD will be coming to Channel 4 this fall, shortly after it premieres in the US.

Coming from the creative minds of Joss Whedon (The Avengers, Firefly), Jed Whedon (Dollhouse), and Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse), the first live-action television show from the comic book franchise.

Taking place after the events of last year's The Avengers, the series will focus on the human elements of the fight to keep the supernatural and super powerful in check and out of the hands of those who seek to exploit it.

"When fans see this pilot, they'll be pretty astonished by what we pulled off and the challenge is to do it every week," said Marvel's head of TV Jeph Loeb, according to Entertainment Weekly. "The magic of television is that it's about characters, and fortunately that's also what Marvel is also about. We're not built around a cape and a cowl."

Since the program will exist within the current Marvel cinematic universe, there is a chance that some superheroes may make an appearance on the scene.

We plan on trying to weave in between the films and try to make them more rewarding on both ends," Jed Whedon said, according to Entertainment Weekly. "In any of these [episodes], you can always ask: 'Why don't they just call Iron Man?' They are aware of each other, but they do have to have their own lives."

The show will feature the characters of Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg), Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), Skye (Chloe Bennet), Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), and Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge).

While the date of the British premiere is still unannounced, it will be sometime after the US season premiere on Sept. 24.
