'House of Cards' Season 2 Premiere: Beau Willimon Dishes On The Intimacy In Netflix Series [VIDEO & NEWS]
Netflix's hit political series, House of Cards, continues to draw interest at an astounding rate for its upcoming sophomore season, which is currently being filmed.
Showrunner Beau Willimon spoke about his nine-time Emmy winning program, and how it allows even the most honest of viewers to suspend their belief system for the sake of entertainment value.
"It allows for a direct communication with the audience that creates intimacy and makes the audience complicit. On paper you might not condone the action, but as a voyeur you become complicit," he said.
Early in the shooting process, Willimon felt that there seemed to be an instant chemistry between actors Kevin Spacey (Francis Underwood) and Corey Stoll (Congressman Peter Russo), even wanting more of their interactions.
Interestingly enough, the initial plan was to place another character on the campaign trail. However, Willimon ended up altering the scripts in order to have Spacey's character work with Stoll's more often.
